KALMIA (Mountain Laurel)

Mountain Laurel is an evergreen plant that grows naturally in eastern North America.  As a shrub, it stands 5 to 10 feet tall and as a tree, it can reach 30 feet high or more.  It has pink or white flowers, which may have purple markings, and glossy, dark leaves that are oblong and pointed at the ends.

A beautiful native evergreen with large clusters of pink and white flowers in mid June.  Dark green leaves (offer a great backdrop to the showy flowers.  Flowering in the months of May and June these impressive flowers are ¾ to 1" across varying in color from white to pink to a deep red.
