Comet - Red & Yellow

 

Comets are single-tailed goldfish and are considered the most hardy of all pond fish.   There are a few key differences between Comets and Koi.  The Comet grows to a maximum length of a little over a foot (compared to the maximum of more than two feet for many Koi varieties.)

Koi

 

Koi are very beautiful fish.  Koi are extremely hardy and easy to grow. They adapt to almost any climate that is not constantly frozen, over-heated, or polluted. They can be trained to eat out of the hand.

Koi Butterfly

 

Butterfly Koi are a perfect pond addition.  Their magnificently flowing fins are a display of elegance when viewed from above. A native of Eastern Asia, these beautiful, animated, hardy specimens are completely peaceful even at their maximum captive length of more than two feet.

Sarasa

 

A "Sarasa Comet" is a red and white fish. Many times a Sarasa comet will have red spots on a white body. The reds on a Sarasa comet tend to be truer than the orange-red of the pond comet.

Shubunkin Calico

 

The "Shubunkin" is a calico fish that has black spots that look like freckles. The body of the Shubunkin may be a soft blue and the reds that appear on this variety are usually deep red.
