Flowers: yellow Height: up to 4'
Spiny paddle stems produce large yellow flowers at the top and outer outer edges.  Blooms throughout spring from April to June, ripening to vivid red-purple cactus fruit with sweet seeding edible flesh.  Winter paddles darken to rich purple color.
